️ Having a six pack does not necessary mean you have a strong core. ️ Did this hit you hard? While I think it’s perfectly fine to aspire to have visible abs , you have to understand that actually having a strong core is so much more important for your overall health.

Having a strong core will help you maintain a correct posture, preventing back pain by stabilizing your spine.

A six-pack is simply the result of genetics, healthy food and a low bf %. This is one of the reason why I love #RFT , because it makes me work on all my core muscles! And yes, you might argue that I do have pretty visible abs – let me add, 90% of the time cause I’m human and I also bloat every now and then  - but look at my mom! She has more abs than me and she’s 48! You see where I’m going? GENETICS.

So please, don’t measure your fitness level by looking at how flat your stomach is. 
Now, here’s today’s workout for #trainwithdesifit x @ivan_fitfactor with special guest @funkyfitlife .

All movements are done in a crawl position to keep that core tight and engaged:

Hello Sunday  I love you so much, because it’s a day of total relax and self care.

My plans for the day: cook ‍ a delicious sunday lunch for the hubs, enjoy lots of puppy  cuddles ️, an epsom salt bath while watching @gameofthrones  and a yoga 🧘‍️ session with @martina_sergi .

While I do enjoy active rest days with walks on the treadmill ‍️, I do think it’s very important to take at least 1 day out of your week simply sit back and relax.

Rest and recovery are important, not only for muscle growth and repair but for our hormonal balance.

Amo essere attiva, ed è per questo che in genere le mie giornate di rest includono una forma di attività 🤸‍️ leggera come ad esempio una camminata lenta e rilassante. Però è importante dedicare almeno una giornata al recovery puro. Per me in genere, quella giornata è la Domenica.

Not all transformations are about losing weight. Some are about gaining happiness and health. 
5 years ago, I didn’t have a very healthy relationship with food, cardio was my obsession and I gave a lot of importance to the scale. Truth is that despite being skinny, I was uncomfortable with my body, and genuinely didn't have any clue of what living a healthy lifestyle truly meant. 
Luckily @kayla_itsines happened in my life and thanks to her and the entire support system of the bbg community, I found a new passion and started to properly take care of my body. I soon understood that more weight=more strength and that meant a better, more energetic life! I am in no way perfect today, but today I embrace who I am, rather than wishing I was different. 
Fitness is now an enjoyable addition to my life and I no longer have a specific aesthetic goal. I don’t count macros nor I restrict myself. I skip workouts sometimes, and I enjoy that piece of buttery cake when I want it. I consider myself a healthy person, but I am also human and I never forget to live life fully! ...

Non tutte le ragazze conducono uno stile di vita sano per perdere peso, alcune persone vogliono semplicemente essere felici ed in salute. 5 anni fa, non avevo un rapporto molto sano con il cibo, il cardio era la mia ossessione e davo molta importanza alla bilancia. La verità è che, nonostante fossi magra, non ero a mio agio con il mio corpo e sinceramente non avevo idea di cosa significasse veramente vivere uno stile di vita sano. Il fitness è un'aggiunta piacevole alla mia vita e non ho più obiettivi estetici specifici. A volte mi capita di saltare un allenamento e per quanto consideri la mia alimentazione molto sana, mi concedo sfizi quando ne ho voglia.  Insomma, mi considero una ragazza “fit”, ma sono anche umana e non dimentico mai di vivere la vita pienamente! .

Make peace with food and reject the diet mentality. 
You can’t lose weight quickly and if someone is promising you that, well, it’s a lie. 
Denying yourself a particular food will lead to the awful feeling of deprivation which can trigger the drive to overeat which in turn will leave you overwhelmed and guilty. 
Give yourself permission to eat, stop fighting your hunger. You need to feed your body adequately and I’m talking about wholesome nutritious meals which will leave you satisfied and full of energies.

#Stress is harsh for the body, not only mentally but also physically. So make time for yourself because self care is important. 
Stress spikes cortisol levels and suppresses your thyroid function which can lead to fat gain and water retention. So prioritize your health. 
Here are 3 tips:
1️⃣.Start your day with a slow and calming yoga routine, it will kick off your day in a positive  light.
2️⃣.Take hot baths  at night a couple of times a week, maybe while reading your favorite book  or watching your tv gig! Add some Epsom salts to detox your body.
3️⃣.Enjoy a warm soothing cup of tea  at night. Opt for decaf teas so that they wont  mess with your sleep.

Mindset is everything.
If you are starting your fitness journey today, you need to understand what is your WHY.
Simply wanting to lose weight, will probably not be enough for the long run.
Dig deeper. Find what that goal truly means to you.
When I started, I simply wanted to look “more fit” like all those fitness models on the gram.
But honestly, that was motivating at the beginning but faded very quickly.
By digging deeper, I realized that through fitness I was finding strength, both physical and mental. That strength made me more confident, and that made me a more resilient, powerful woman. I was flourishing. Fitness shaped me as a women, and today thanks to fitness I am a stronger women, a better wife, a more energetic dog  momma ... and one day I hope to a have a baby girl that I can inspire to be her BEST version of herself.

Voler semplicemente perdere peso, probabilmente non sarà una motivazione abbastanza forte nel lungo periodo. Scava più a fondo. Scopri cosa si cela davvero dietro questo obiettivo. Quando ho iniziato ad allenarmi, volevo semplicemente essere più in forma ed assomigliare alle fitness models di IG 🤦‍️... ma onestamente, questo mi ha motivato forse un po’ solo all'inizio.
Presto, mi sono resa conto che attraverso il fitness stavo trovando forza, sia fisica che mentale. Quella forza mi ha reso più sicura di me e questo mi ha reso una donna più resiliente e grintosa. E’ stata una rinascita e il fitness mi ha plasmato, e oggi mi sento una donna più forte, una moglie migliore, una dogmamma più energica… e un giorno spero di avere una figlia a cui poter insegnare che non c’è niente di piu’ potente che essere la versione MIGLIORE di se stessa.

 SUPPLEMENTS  A common question I get asked is if I take supplements, and besides some daily multivitamins, the only thing I take is whey protein. 
Why? Because, by observing my body, I noticed that by consuming a fast-absorbing protein immediately after my strength workouts, I increased my lean body mass drastically. 
In fact, whey protein supplies your muscles with the amino acids they need to repair and grow. 
That being said, it's very important to remember that supplements are designed to fill in the nutritional gaps of a complete and varied diet and not to replace actual food. 
I get the majority of my daily protein from meat and eggs and that is the way to go because real food will also give me the essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients for optimal health.  What's your thought on this? And what is your favorite protein source? .

This is the satisfied face of a woman that despite how busy she is, she still prioritizes her health and manages to find 90 minutes of her time for herself.

Many wonder how I do it all, a full time career ‍ in marketing, the hubs  & Elvis , the house  , the cooking ‍ , @instagram 🤳 & personal training... but honestly I don’t do anything special. 
I made the decision to either get up an hour earlier to start my day, or postpone netflix & couch  potato-ing to after dinner so I can hit the gym before or after work.

You see, we all have 168 hours in a week. And if we take away 8 hours per night worth of sleep, that leaves us to about 112 hours. Ok, we gotta work right? So let’s say we have 60-70 hours worth of free time, where we can do house chores, go out and have fun... you are seriously telling me you can’t devote 5-7 hours of your time to exercise? 
It’s only a matter of determination and willpower. 
And if I can do it, you can too.

Get up. Start moving!

For most of my life, working out was just a way to burn off calories and feel less guilty for those high caloric meals I wanted to enjoy.

My workouts were long and static, mainly cardio cause I was afraid that lifting weights would make me manly.

And of course, I hated going to the gym. I was forcing myself.

27 years old Desiree is a certified @nasm_fitness personal trainer, she eats to fuel her body and most of all she loves fitness and how workouts make her feel. Oh, how I wish I would have known back then.

Accepting and loving my body was not an easy road. Still today there are days that I am not 100% satisfied with my looks. But hey, it’s normal. I’m human. 
Honestly, I will forever be grateful to @kayla_itsines , @tobi_pearce and the @bbg_community because they made me see fitness in a new light. 
Today, I am the BEST version of me. And damn, does it feel good!!!!

🇮🇹 Per gran parte della mia vita, allenarmi era solo un modo per bruciare calorie e sentirmi meno in colpa per quei “cheat
meals”. I miei allenamenti erano lunghi e statici, principalmente cardio, perché temevo che sollevare pesi mi facesse perdere femminilità. Naturalmente, odiavo andare in palestra. 
La Desiree di oggi è una personal trainer, mangia il doppio di 4 anni fa e lo per nutrire adeguatamente il suo corpo. Ama il fitness ed il modo in cui mi fa sentire.

Ah... se solo avessi saputo!

Accettare ed amare il proprio corpo non è una cosa facile.  Ancora oggi ci sono giorni in cui non sono soddisfatta al 100% di me stessa. Ma è normale, sono umana. Ma oggi, sono la versione MIGLIORE di me stessa e credetemi... è meraviglioso!

Breathing seems such an easy thing to do right?! But in reality, the majority of us in the gym do not know how to breathe properly. Why? Because we are too focused on following that famous instagram chick that is showing us how to grow a booty, instead of teaching how to take care of your body.

Truth is, you gotta take a step back and rethink your workouts. Without proper breathing, mobility and flexibility comes lack of form. Without form, comes injury and pain.

Breathing properly = engaged core.

As you breathe in you engage the muscles that surround the lower back. As you hold your breath, you are creating a natural weight belt tightening the midsection. And as you breathe out, exhale slowly and engage that core.

Food is nourishment, it’s fuel, it’s energy and it should always make you feel GOOD, so pay attention to how you feel.

The next time you're eating something, take a second and think about how that food makes you feel. Perhaps, try keeping a food journal that tracks what you ate and how you felt afterwards. You may notice patterns, like healthy food giving you more energy and junk food being unsatisfying for your hunger.

Understanding your body can be very helpful in changing your eating habits and overall lifestyle.

Avete mai provato a pensare a come vi fa sentire il cibo che mangiate? Quando si hanno difficoltà con l’alimentazione, secondo me può essere davvero utile imparare a conoscere il proprio corpo, ad esempio tenendo traccia di come determinati alimenti ci fanno sentire, sia fisicamente che mentalmente.

Facendo attenzione, noterete che un’alimentazione ricca di cibi salutari vi darà energia, pelle luminosa e forza, mentre il cibo “spazzatura” non solo non soddisferà davvero la vostra fame, ma in genere lascia stanchi e privi di energie (avete presente quella sonnolenza post pranzo di Natale ?!). Imparate a conoscervi, è la chiave per raggiungere davvero risultati.
